Real Escape was a commission done for Marcus & Millichap, Palo Alto, CA., a comercial and residential real estate company for the future. The postmodern architecture inspired me to create an oversized chessboard. The game of real estate is portrayed with stylized kings, queen, rook and pawn in a checkmate postion. A sense of power and mystery are combined to create a successful collaboration between myself and the client. In 2005, after a lobby remodel, Marcus & Millichap donated the tapestry to the New DeYoung Museum of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. |
